Work for the Dole Program

Held in conjunction with Tursa Employment & Training.

Work for the Dole places job seekers in activities where they can gain skills and experience that give back to the community and can help them find a job.

Eligible job seekers registered with a jobactive provider will need to participate in Work for the Dole or another approved activity for six months each year to keep receiving their income support if they have mutual obligation requirements.

Responsible Gambiling Services

Held in conjunction with SkillsLink Training

Legislation requires all people working or intending to work in gaming areas of hotels and registered clubs to complete an approved course. Participants will receive a Statement of Attainment SITHGAM001 - Provide responsible gambling services. OLGR Approved (Includes photocard).

Responsible Service of Alcohol

It is a requirement that anyone who sells, serves or supplies alcohol in NSW holds a current RSA Certificate. Statement of Attainment SITHFAB002 - Provide responsible service of alcohol. OLGR Approved (includes photocard)

Food Hygiene & Safety

Held in conjunction with SkillsLink Training

This course meets Food Safety Program requirements and covers safe food handling and safe storage, effective use of detergents and sanitisers, waste and pest control. It also includes an overview of how the food safety legislation affects you. Statement of Attainment SITXFSA001 - Use hygienic practices for food safety.

OHS White Card

Held in conjunction with SkillsLink Training

This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

This unit meets the general construction induction training requirements of:

  • Part 1.1 Definitions and Part 6.5 of the Model Work Health and Safety Regulations;

  • Division 11 of Part 3 of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 for Western Australia; and

  • Division 3 of Part 5.1 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007 for Victoria.

It is expected that site-specific induction training will be conducted prior to conducting construction work.

It is now a national requirement that anyone entering a construction site holds the WHS Whitecard. 

On successful completion you will receive a statement of attainment in CPCCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

Advanced First Aid Course

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

Learn simple effective techniques to deal with common medical emergency situations including CPR techniques.

On successful completion you will receive Statements of Attainment in:

  • HLTAID003 Apply first aid

  • HLTAID001 Perform CPR

  • HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support.
